Another new bird for me. This is a Red-bellied Woodpecker. I spotted this red-headed fellow in the woods near Dixon Branch at White Rock Lake. While I watched, the woodpecker interacted briefly with a White-breasted Nuthatch before moving on in his quest for arboreal insects!
