This juvenile Yellow-crowned Night Heron was observed at Lemmon Lake in the Joppa Preserve area of the Great Trinity Forest. This is a young, newly independent bird—a product of this past spring’s breeding season.

We have a pair of Juvenile’s nesting in a tree in front of our home in Richardson Texas who love to eat bugs out of my front flower bed. Have pictures but can’t seem to be able to post.
