I usually observe Eurasian Collared-doves foraging in parking lots or perched high up on utility lines. They seem to thrive in man-made environments, which may account for the way they are rapidly expanding their range all over North America.
This was a unique encounter for me, and records one of the only occurrences I have had of observing these birds in a more natural setting. The small grove of trees at this spot in Carrollton’s Greenbelt Park contained a dozen or more of these attractive birds.
