This is a Red-eared Slider with wanderlust. I found this turtle in the middle of a large parcel of pastureland. He was really booking when I found him. One indication of his speed is that the algae is still damp on the back of his shell, even though he was several hundred yards (meters) from the nearest water when our paths crossed.
