Black-crowned Night Herons do well for themselves at the UTSWMC rookery. They have just the right amount of independence and assertiveness to breed successfully amidst the anarchy of a heron rookery.
On this morning, in a light rain, there were a number of recently fledged Black-crowned Night Heron juveniles to be found. This individual did me the courtesy of posing for a few pictures.
