This is the update I know a lot of you have been waiting for—the Bald Eagle fledglings back in front of the camera. These pictures come to us from the good folks at the John Bunker Sands Wetland Center.
Both young eagles are healthy and accounted for as of June 12, 2013. They are spending much of their time now near the ground along the utility right of way. Reports are that both juveniles are flying strong now and can reach the tops of the transmission towers when they wish to.
There was no sign of this adults on this occasion.

Jan 5 2013 8am Sunrise hike at Cedar Ridge Preserve, I observed a bald eagle flying over Cattail Pond, Cedar Ridge Preserve, Dallas TX I posted my observation w photos at iNat and added it to the DFW Urban Wildlife Project http://www.inaturalist.org/observations/494248
I have seen that post! That was a nice sighting. I saw several Bald Eagles in the metroplex last year, but none so far this year. I hope that changes soon!
