I photographed this White-winged Dove in Richardson, Texas. When I first saw the dove, he was perched on a power line. After just a moment he flew down to a small grassy area where he began looking for nesting materials.
The dove spent a good deal of the time on the ground searching for suitable nesting materials. Many twigs and stems were picked up, but most were discarded.
