A small group American Crows made their way through our neighborhood on this afternoon. They stopped briefly in a park where they vocalized loudly from high in the trees.
These two video are from an accidental capture. This Red-tailed Hawk just happened to decide to conduct some business in front of one of my Scouting Camera.
The first video shows the hawk just after he appears to have captures some small animal, possibly a rat of some kind. The bird fiddles with his catch a bit and then quickly takes to the air. And, when I say quickly, I mean he rockets out of view. The Hawk’s speed is really quiet remarkable.
In the second video, taken a couple of days later, the hawk has returned to the scene. This time the hawk stays out of sight, but if you listen closely you can hear him vocalizing. The hawk is very near. And, from the clicking noises and camera shake, we judge that the hawk may very well be perched on top of the Scouting Camera itself!
This Blue Jay was observed near the north end of the Addison Airport in Addison, Texas. The Blue Jay was making quite a racket, but the cause of his agitation was not obvious.
What is it about crows? They always give me the impression that they are up to some kind of mischief.
We observed these fine looking fellows midmorning near Woodlake Pond in Carrollton. They made plenty of
noise as they moved through the area. Their purpose? Just looking for mischief as far as I could tell.
Fox Squirrels are masters of hiding in plain sight. This individual’s location was discovered by following the sound of his persistent barking. The barking ended shortly after the squirrel became aware of my presence and interest.
This series of photographs was taken at a neighborhood park. The park includes a paved trail that follows the path of a creek in an area that is heavily wooded.
Fox Squirrels were plentiful in this park, indicating that this type of terrain is a excellent habitat for these creatures.
