These American Coots were found at Woodlake Pond in Carrollton, Texas. There, they congregate with Mallards, geese, and other waterfowl. They are used to being feed by park visitors and are relatively tame.

While I was photographing the American Coots at Woodlake Pond in Carrollton, some neighborhood kids came along with bread to feed the birds. The various waterfowl quickly assembled in front of the kids to the delight of all.
