There has been a concerted effort over this past year to rid the Village Creek Drying Beds and River Legacy Park of Feral Hogs. From the looks of things the efforts have been largely successful, but not absolute.

Feral Hogs are a difficult problem. The animals are clever enough to make things difficult for trappers, and they are prodigious breeders. That means any hogs that are removed can be rapidly replaced if people do not stay on top of the situation.

I recorded images of this interestingly colored Feral Hog over the course of several days in January and early February. In each case the hog was alone—a good indication that there are few pigs in the area these days.
