I found these Scissor-tailed Flycatchers perched on a utility line overlooking a small wetland area. The air above the various ponds was abuzz with dragonflies and the scissor-tails were taking full advantage of the situation. Swooping down off of the wire, the Scissor-tail Flycatchers could be seen nabbing dragonflies—sometimes right out of the air. Once the speedy insects were subdued the birds would return to their perch to devour their prey.
