These are some pictures from my archives. This is what Lemmon Lake in the Joppa Preserve looked like last summer. It does not look like this any more. Lemmon Lake dried completely just a few weeks after these pictures were taken, and it has not refilled in the interim.

The White Ibises in these pictures are foraging with a whole menagerie of other wading birds. Include in the mix are adult and juvenile Little Blue Herons, Snowy Egrets, and Great Egrets.
