These are pictures of Organ-pipe Mud Dauber nests. They were found under the Rugged Drive bridge which spans Five Mile Creek in Dallas, Texas.

This location is a good environment for these mud daubers. There is plenty of water and mud nearby, and the bridge provides the shade that will help regulate the temperature of the nests and eggs.

These nests are not currently active, and appear to be relatively old constructs. The holes on the sides indicate that the larvae have pupated and emerged as adults already.
