This unique view of a Turkey Vulture comes to us from David Mimlitch. David’s hobby is aerial photography which he accomplishes through the use of a remote control airplane. David likes to fly his plane in the Trinity River basin near downtown Dallas. This special location allows David to capture excellent pictures of the natural beauty of the Trinity River and Great Trinity Forest with the stunning Dallas skyline as a backdrop.

On the day these photographs were taken, David discovered his airplane was sharing a thermal with an icon of the Texas sky. A large Turkey Vulture was tracing out lazy circles above the Trinity floodplain. David’s plane was doing the same from a slightly higher altitude. The result was this set of intriguing photographs. A big, black Turkey Vulture from a rarely experienced vantage point!
