Every spring and summer Memorial Gardens Park on the UT Southwestern Medical Center campus plays host to a menagerie of egrets and other large wading birds. The birds come to this small oasis of woods near downtown Dallas to build their nests and raise their young. Hundreds of the big, exotic-looking birds participate.

The heron rookery at the UT Southwestern is an wilderness in microcosm, and the wading birds are not the only animals that call this park home. Every wilderness needs a predator, and at the UTSWMC heron rookery that role is played—to a large degree—by a resident population of Feral Cats.

Reportedly there is a sizable number of Feral Cats on this property. We saw several of them as we conducted a brief tour of the park this past weekend. The last one we came across was busying feeding the carcass of what appeared to be a Great Egret.

While there is no way to absolutely certain, I think it is very likely this cat hunted and killed the egret. It is not hard to image a bird so preoccupied with breeding that it lets its guard down long enough for a cat to conduct an ambush. No small feat for the predator, though—by many measures a Great Egret is significantly larger than a house cat.

  1. People who let cats roam free only do so because they think their invasive species cats are going to live idyllic lives killing small animals and chasing butterflies (valuable native species) or someone else will take care of their vermin cat for them. If they know that their cat will die within hours or days from having let it roam free it stops 100%. They can’t just believe it MIGHT happen, they have to know that IT WILL HAPPEN. It worked 100% where I live. It was the only way to stop them and their cats from destroying every last native animal on my lands.

I had a cat infestation problem that I was dealing with for over 15 years. No amount of befriending, educating, trying to reason with, beg, plead, argue, or even have the local Sheriff try to reason with the people releasing cats into the environment would solve the problem.

I finally realized, I had made a foolish foolish error that nearly cost me every last animal on my lands. By trying to ask for the help and advice of uneducated, ignorant, self-serving, and deranged invasive species advocates to stop the problem that they were hellbent on perpetuating; it is just as foolish as someone asking your local career-thieves for their advice and help to hide your valuables from their daily motives, goals, values, and activities.

The moment I STOPPED trying to engage the help of, or even listen to, the people causing the problem was the very moment the problem solved itself. So, on advice of the Sheriff I started to shoot and bury (to protect wildlife from cats’ diseases even after death) literally hundreds of their cats that, after this 15 year nightmare, had all but annihilated every last native animal on my lands. From smallest of prey that was gutted and skinned alive for cats’ tortured play-toys up to the top predators that were starved to death from cats destroying their ONLY food sources.

I’ve not seen even one cat in over 3 years now, (also disproving their mythical vacuum-effect lie.) And do you know why this works? Rather than clutter up this board with yet another one of my lengthy explanations, just Google for this complete search-string, as-is, including all quotes:

“Licensing and laws do nothing to curb the problem” AND “I don’t see anyone dumping cats where I live anymore” AND “irreversible consequences”

Therein you’ll find an answer that works, 100%, is permanent, is affordable by any individual, or any size of community, and all in less than 2 seasons of your effort.

DONE AND OVER WITH. FINISHED. All you have to do is stop letting cat-lickers from manipulating you into wasting your valuable time and life and just do what needs to be done. It’s THAT simple. Because that’s what this is really all about to begin with. They don’t care if their cats get ran over by cars, die from environmental poisons, are eaten from the inside-out by parasites, or freeze or bake to death, or are attacked by other cats and animals. They are ONLY using their cats to control and ruin your life and the lives of all other living things on earth. That’s what this is REALLY all about. If it were not, they would stop sacrificing the lives of their cats for this sociopathic, inhumane, and amoral purpose of theirs.

If anyone else is plagued by criminally irresponsible cat-lickers here is a link describing some of the most effective methods that I invented to accomplish eradicating hundreds of these destructive invasive species vermin, by myself, on a large tract of land, in heavy brush and dense woods: http://www.americanhunter.org/blogs/arkansas-will-trap-feral-cats The eradication so complete that I’ve not seen even one cat in over three years now, and all done in only a couple of seasons, all for less than the price of a couple cups of coffee (if you too also get your .22s on as good of a sale-price as I did, my costs came to 3 cats per penny).
