I love posting about these tenacious Monk Parakeets. These invasive birds—escaped pets—look as if they belong in the tropics, but they have somehow managed to established colonies all across the Dallas/Fort Worth area. For some reason they prefer nesting in electrical substations, and that was the case for this Irving, Texas colony as well.
