These Red-eared Sliders were found in the frigid water of Indian Creek on a cold December morning. The turtles were active despite the chilly weather.

In the first set of pictures and in the video there are a pair of Red-eared Sliders One turtle is partially buried in the mud at the bottom of the creek, while the other seems to be attempting to pry him loose—possibly in an effort to take his place.

The last picture is of another Red-eared Slider I found further downstream. This turtle was making his way along the creek bed in a place where the crystal clear water allowed for excellent viewing. Again, the cold weather only seemed to slow this turtle’s pace slightly.
