There are a lot of Raccoons in the Lewisville Lake Environmental Learning Area (LLELA). A lot. I found my first indication of just how many when I stumbled across the remains of a Raccoon skeleton as I made my way to the Elm Fork of the Trinity River.

The skeleton I found was incomplete. Only the skull, the jawbones, the scapulas, and a few rib bones and vertebrate were present. A few tuff of hair were to be found as well, but that was it.

When I finally made it to the river, the first thing I noticed was a sandbar completely covered in Raccoon Tracks. The loamy bank I was standing on was in a similar state.
