For years now I have been recording photographs of White-tailed Deer in the undeveloped lands adjacent to Plano’s wonderful Arbor Hills Nature Preserve. This is the first specimen I have ever photographed INSIDE the boundaries of the park. These pictures were taken very close to the 0.4 mile marker on the Outer Loop Trail in the southwest corner of the preserve.

My hat is off to the City of Plano for creating such an excellent nature preserve. It is fantastic resource for the people of the Dallas/Fort Worth area, and it is a magnificent model for all other municipalities in the metroplex and across the country to emulate.

  1. As my husband and I were walking in Arbor Hills, we saw a deer. We were delighted. This was only yesterday. It was at the same marker where you saw it. How cool!

    • Well, that is great. I am curious to see how the construction over at Austin Waters affects the deer population in Arbor Hills. You may be seeing more of them now that the Austin Waters land has been lost to construction!
