This is a juvenile Eastern Yellow-bellied Racer observed in a field of waist high Johnson Grass. This juvenile snake will lose this colorful pattern as it ages. As adults, Eastern Yellow-bellied Racers are colored a uniform pale gray on top with a distinctive yellow belly below.








If you look closely you will see that there is a small ant on the nose of this snake.
