This juvenile Common Snapping Turtle was found crossing a road in the middle of a Garland business park. Some of the vacant lots in the area have small ponds and gullies. This little snapper was obviously trying to move from one to the other. But, she still had a long way to go when I came across her. With a danger road crossing in front of her, I decided a little help was in order. I collected the young turtle, took a few photographs, and then released her in what I judged to be her chosen pond.

This is the street where the turtle was found. It is heavily trafficked by 18-wheelers.

The juvenile snapper was small. Notice the quarter included in this photograph for scale.
Released into a new home.
