I found this Eastern Yellow-bellied Racer dead on the drive way leading into the Trinity River Audubon Center. The snake had likely been hit by a car, even though no injury was immediately evident. Red Imported Fire Ants had discovered the carcass and were already working on it. Nothing goes to waste in nature.
