This observation is part of a weekly monitoring of an active Red-shouldered Hawk nest. Last week’s observation can be seen here: Red-shouldered Hawk – Nest Update 5

No adults were present at the Lake Highlands nest today. The three youngsters are growing rapidly and have mostly transitioned to their adult coloration. On several occasions they were seen to be exercising their wings, no doubt in anticipation of their imminent first flights. It should be only a couple more weeks now before they fledge.
